Why it is that they call it 'the blues'

It was revealed to me last night that the inimitable Adam Enevoldsen, formerly of the Groove Hogs and currently of Adam Douglas and the Deacons, has been admitted to some higher-learning school in Minneapolis and will be leaving the area come the end of summer.

Curse you!

For those not in the know, this was the house band at the weekly Sunday night Blues Hangover event at Le Palais Herpetologique. They'll continue playing their Sunday shows as well as others on different nights at other venues in the Fox Valley area, but come August -- maybe September -- almost certainly not still October -- the boy'll be gone, and the Valley will be the poorer for it.

Word is that the band is looking for a new guitarist and/or vocalist. Blues chops are a necessity.
